Jan Schmidt is a director of Centricular - a Free Software consultancy built by GStreamer maintainers - and provides cross-platform multimedia and graphics expertise. He is a core developer of the GStreamer multimedia framework, and writes a lot of software for playing, producing and streaming video and audio.
When not writing Free Software, he likes to spend time with his family on their miniature farm, building gardens, home automation systems, robots and quadcopters, or experimenting with new technology. He is also learning to play the flute. He lives outside Wodonga, Victoria.
He has presented at many conferences over the years, including Linux.conf.au, GUADEC and the annual GStreamer conference.
