Federico is a Linux and Open Source enthusiast since Yggdrasil "Fall 1993" and is since then using it on desktops and any kind of embedded system he comes across. He is always eager to introduce Linux usage to new users and new use cases. He wrote three articles for Linux Journal and did many professional courses for companies ranging from Linux system administration to embedded Linux programming.
From 2003 he worked as a freelance on many OSS-based projects and since 2014 he is working at the European Southern Observatory where his mission is to integrate and automatize the development of control software for world class telescopes and astronomical instruments, of course with the support of Linux and Open Source. Since mid 2018 he is the responsible for the software maintenance of the VLT observatory.
